One valley offering thousands of opportunities. From lush green fields to the 3,000-metre-high mountain peaks, the region of the Tiroler Oberland - Nauders - Kaunertal includes many exciting attractions suited for the entire family. The holiday region is situated in the border triangle of Austria, Italy and Switzerland and stretches from Nauders at the Reschenpass to Prutz in the Inntal, all the way to the Kaunertal glacier. This region is also referred to as the Rhaetian triangle, as it connects the Tiroler Oberland with the Swiss Engadin and the South-Tyrolean Vinschgau regions. With a shared history, many names of the villages in all three regions are similar.

This spectacular holiday region is home to the towns of Prutz, Faggen, Fendels, Kauns, Kaunerberg, Kaunertal, Ried, Tösens, Pfunds, Spiss, and Nauders. The charming village of Spiss, Austria's highest municipality at 1,627 metres above sea-level on the sunny side of the Samnaun mountain range, is part of our holiday region as well.

Powder snow and fun on the slopes ensure a memorable holiday in our delightful region which includes 6 first-class ski resorts stretching beyond the national borders. Enjoy excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions in the ski paradise Reschenpass (120 km), the ski resort Silvretta-Arena Samnaun-Ischgl (238 km), Tyrol's Ski-Dimension No. 1 Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis (212 km), the ski resort Kaunertal glacier (54 km), the family ski area Fendels (16 km) and the ski resort Venet (22 km). No matter what type of skier or snowboarder you are, these different ski resorts offer fantastic opportunities for pleasure skiers, racers, powder-hunters, ski mountaineering enthusiasts, free-skiers, and snow park fans. The Tiroler Oberland region also caters to cross-country skiers. Explore the region while gliding elegantly on the snow and enjoy the 150 kilometres of well-maintained and even snow-guaranteed cross-country ski tracks. In addition to the many ski and snowboard opportunities, guests can enjoy a variety of toboggan tracks which are always fantastic fun for the entire family. Walk through the whimsical winter wonderland, rest in a charming mountain hut, and race back down on the natural toboggan tracks during the day or even on the flood-lit tracks at night. Another popular activity and delightful way to enjoy the winter landscape is by embarking on a winter hike or snow-shoe walk in the fresh mountain air.

The magnificent alpine landscape of the Nature Park Kaunergrat is suited for adventurous activities in the fresh mountain air such as hiking, biking, climbing, and mountaineering. This holiday region boasts a large variety of paths and trails ranging in difficulty ensuring the ideal tour available for every guest. Enjoy a gentle walk up to an alpine meadow with the family, to rustic alpine huts called an "Alm", or a more challenging hike to the top of a mountain, or even conquer a via ferrata and take in the glorious views as a reward for your accomplishment. The flora and fauna is appreciated by all, but most of all by nature enthusiasts, especially at the Schwarzen See lake, which is a moor lake that is home to many protected species. Mountain bikers can explore this magnificent area to their heart's content. The region borders on the 3-country bike arena situated at the Reschenpass and offers unlimited fun and excitement on the bike. The region Tiroler Oberland also caters to all of their youngest guests. With spectacular children's programmes and mountain adventure worlds, there is great fun guaranteed for all young adventurers and their families. And on hot summer days, the exciting swimming pools and lakes are the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing dip in the water and have some great fun. The Reschensee lake is located nearby on the South-Tyrolean side and guarantees a memorable experience because a sunken church tower is visible in the lake. A worth-while trip at any time of the year.
