Travelling by car may be the fastest way to travel to Tyrol and is rather easy and uncomplicated, especially when driving along the motorways. Usually there are multiple route-options, and it is sometimes worth taking the scenic routes along the alpine roads due to the picturesque scenery and the stunning alpine landscape.
"Vignette" Austrian motorway toll sticker is compulsory
It is compulsory to buy a valid "vignette", which is a motorway toll sticker, before diving your car on the Austrian motorway. The sticker can be bought at service stations, national borders, auto-clubs, or specialist sellers at the border control before entering into Austria. Please take care to ensure the sticker is correctly placed on the front windscreen of your car. The "vignette" can be purchased for 10 days, 2 months, or one year according to your requirements.
